Information we collect
CyberNest is designed to work without collecting personal information from you. We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Physical address or contact list
- Location
- Photos, videos, or microphone recordings
- Financial account information or passwords
- Browsing history
- Device identifiers for advertising
- Biometric information
- Personal messages
- Children’s personal information
CyberNest does not ask users to enter bank logins, passwords, Social Security numbers, government IDs, payment card numbers, or other sensitive personal information.
Information stored locally on your device
CyberNest may store limited app-use information locally on your device so the app can function properly. This may include:
- Completed lessons and completed checklist items
- Cyber Health Score progress
- Onboarding progress
- App preferences and reminder settings
- Selected safety topics or categories
This information is stored on your device and is used only to provide the app experience. It is not transmitted to CyberNest servers.
How we use information
CyberNest uses locally stored app information to:
- Track lesson and checklist progress
- Calculate your Cyber Health Score
- Resume onboarding where you left off
- Display relevant safety recommendations
- Support reminders you choose to enable
- Improve your personal app experience on the same device
CyberNest does not use your data for advertising, profiling, resale, or targeted marketing.
Data sharing
CyberNest does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers. Because CyberNest is designed not to collect personal information, we generally do not have personal information to share.
Limited information may be handled by platform providers outside CyberNest in the following situations:
- App store purchases. If CyberNest is sold as a paid app or includes a one-time purchase, Google Play or the Apple App Store may process purchase and payment information. CyberNest does not receive your full payment card details.
- User-initiated support. If you contact us by email, we will receive the information you choose to include in that message.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or valid government request.
Third-party services
CyberNest does not include advertising SDKs.
CyberNest uses Firebase Crashlytics (a service provided by Google) to help us detect and fix app crashes. When the app crashes, Crashlytics automatically collects technical diagnostic information such as your device model, operating system version, app version, and a crash report describing what the app was doing when it stopped working. Crashlytics also assigns an anonymous, app-specific installation identifier to group crash reports from the same device; this identifier is not tied to your name, email address, or any other personal information CyberNest collects.
This information is used only to identify, diagnose, and fix bugs in the app. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or resale, and it is not combined with other services to identify you personally. Firebase Crashlytics is only active in released versions of the app, not during local development.
Crashlytics data is processed by Google in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy and Firebase’s data processing terms.
CyberNest does not use any other third-party analytics, behavior tracking, or data broker services. If additional third-party services are added in the future, this privacy policy will be updated before release to explain what data those services collect, how they use it, and whether it is shared.
App permissions
CyberNest is designed to request only the permissions needed for app functionality.
Depending on your device and operating system version, CyberNest may request permission to send notifications or reminders. Notification permission is used only to show safety reminders you choose to receive.
CyberNest does not need access to your contacts, precise location, camera, microphone, photos, SMS messages, call logs, or financial accounts.
Children and family use
CyberNest includes family-friendly digital safety content, but the app is intended for general audiences, parents, guardians, and everyday users.
CyberNest does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us at andrew.wright@aiacyber.com, and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
If CyberNest is later designed specifically for children or marketed as child-directed, additional child privacy requirements may apply. COPPA applies to online services directed to children under 13 or services that knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. App stores also require accurate target-audience declarations and additional compliance when children are part of the target audience.
Security
CyberNest is designed to minimize data collection. The primary way we protect user privacy is by avoiding unnecessary collection of personal data.
Locally stored app progress remains on your device unless you delete the app, clear app storage, or your operating system removes the data.
No method of electronic storage is completely secure, but CyberNest is designed to reduce privacy risk by keeping app progress local and avoiding unnecessary data transmission.
Data retention and deletion
CyberNest stores app progress and preferences locally on your device for as long as the app remains installed. You can delete locally stored CyberNest data by:
- Uninstalling the app
- Clearing CyberNest app storage in your device’s settings (Android) or deleting and reinstalling the app (iOS)
- Using any in-app reset option, if available
If you contact us by email for support, we may retain that message for a reasonable period to respond to your request, maintain support records, or comply with legal obligations.
No professional security guarantee
CyberNest provides educational cybersecurity and digital safety guidance. It is not antivirus software, a VPN, identity theft monitoring, emergency response software, legal advice, financial advice, or a guarantee that your accounts or devices will be secure.
Users are responsible for applying safety steps appropriately for their own devices, accounts, and household needs.
Changes to this privacy policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, when appropriate, notify users through the app or store listings. Your continued use of CyberNest after a policy update means you accept the updated privacy policy.
